SEPTEMBER FIREFIGHTER OF THE MONTH
Firefighter Jacqueline "Laine" Spruill has been selected as Mobile Fire-Rescue Department's September Firefighter of the Month. Spruill was nominated by one of her peers because she volunteered to take on the difficult task of organizing and overseeing the departments Wellness/Fitness Program. Spruill has been working with employees and doctors at Providence Hospital for several months now to set up stress test for the over 400 employees of the department. She also has coordinated with the YMCA to develop individual fitness programs for every employee of the department to bring this massive project together, and succeeding. Through it all she has keep a positive attitude about the hurdles she constantly faces coordinating and overseeing this program which will be the betterment of every employee of the department.
Spruill was presented the honor on Wednesday, September 29, 2004 at the Tiny Diny Restaurant by The Pleasant Valley Optimist Club sponsors the monthly ceremony. A picture of Spruill is including with this release on the department's web site.
