Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at 6:05 a.m. on Friday, February 21, 2025, to a residential fire incident reported in the 6500 block of Shady Lane in Mobile, Alabama.
Upon arrival, Engine 6 encountered heavy smoke billowing from the eaves of a single-story, brick-veneer structure. A family was outside the premises.
Firefighters swiftly entered the home and discovered a fire in a utility room that had spread to the attic. Through the coordinated efforts of Engine 6 and other arriving crews, water was effectively used to extinguish the flames. Additionally, firefighters conducted thorough searches to ensure no one was inside.
Districts 2 and 4 Chiefs, along with Engines 6, 22, 19, and 23, Truck 5, Rescue 6, and Rehab 1, were dispatched to the incident.
The fire had caused significant damage to the home, resulting in extensive smoke and water damage. Six residents of the house were displaced by the fire. The fire cause was classified as undetermined. There were no reports of any injuries.
