SUSPICIOUS FIRE IN MANUFACTURED HOME
Mobile Firefighters were called to the scene of fire in a manufactured home located at 6850 Three Notch Road this Tuesday morning, June 18, 2002. The call was reported at approximately 5:06 a.m. from several calls by passerby's. Firefighters reported heavy smoke and fire coming from a manufactured home located next to Freddie's Tire Shop which is located behind another business on Three Notch Road. First arriving firefighters initially called for a second alarm assignment but those units were cancelled while en-route to the call. Due to construction on Three Notch Road firefighters could not find a fire hydrant and had to go into a subdivision off Three Notch Road to obtain a water supply. The fire appears to have originated on the northwest end of the trailer and spread throughout the structure. The fire also spread to a large pile of tires nearby. Firefighters found the doors of the trailer open as well as those of the business and a small travel trailer. No one was found in any of the structures. Mobile Fire Investigators are still working on the cause of the fire but are listing it as suspicious. No injuries were reported. Damage estimate is not available at this time. Engines 6, 7, 22, truck 5, rescue 7 and District 4 Chief Harold Miller responded.
