Residential Fires During Thunderstorm

7:40 p.m. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were sent to two residential fires reported by callers to be caused by lightning strikes Tuesday evening, June 10, 2025, in Mobile, Alabama.

One fire in the 600 block of Palmetto Street was dispatched at about 6:49 p.m., with the other in the 3800 block of Camellia Drive East dispatched at about 6:57 p.m.

Firefighters worked on the scene of both incidents to extinguish the fires. There were no reports of any injuries. Both fires are under control at this time, with crews making sure all hotspots are extinguished.
