Structure Fire at Cuba and Camp Streets

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org STRUCTURE FIRE AT CUBA AND CAMP STREETS Mobile firefighters responded to the report of flames visible from an apartment located at Cuba and Camp Streets shortly before 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12. The call was received at approximately 12:52 a.m. Firefighters, upon arrival, reported flames showing from a window of a single-story concrete block structure, divided into three apartments. Firefighters made entry into apartment ā€œCā€ and were able to quickly extinguish the fire and prevent its spread into the other two apartments. The fire appears to have originated in the living room of the small apartment and the cause remains under investigation. Damage is estimated at approximately $15 thousand. No injuries were reported. Engines 3, 8, 14; truck 4; rescue 3 and District Chief John Young responded. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the investigation. ###
