Suspicious Building Fire at Mobile Nightclub

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org SUSPICIOUS BUILDING FIRE AT MOBILE NIGHTCLUB Mobile Fire Investigators are currently investigating what appears to be a suspicious building fire at Bronco Bill's Supper Club located at 4625 Springhill Avenue. The fire was reported at approximately 4:32 a.m. Wednesday morning, October 6, 2004. First units arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke showing from the entire building and fire showing through the roof. Firefighters made entry into the building to fight the fire but had to evacuate the building when the ceiling and roof began to collapse inside. The fire appears to have originated in the bar area and Investigators are investigating the fire as suspicious and are looking at the fire being intentionally set. No damage estimate is available at this time. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information about the fire is being asked to call the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department's Bureau of Fire Prevention at 208-7484. Further information will be released, as it becomes available. Engines 15, 18, 22, truck 10, rescue 18 and District 3 Chief Frank Byrd responded to the call. ###
