9:00 p.m. — Andrew Cameron Prim was arrested and charged with two counts of Felony Arson Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in connection with fires that destroyed two vacant single-family dwellings in the early morning hours at 181 Sunset Drive East and 165 South University Boulevard in Mobile, Alabama.
Mobile Police Department detained Prim after the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Arson Unit identified him as a person of interest. Arson investigators interviewed and arrested Prim for the intentionally set fires.
Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 5:01 a.m. for a report of a residential fire called in by two passersby in the 100 block of South University Boulevard Wednesday morning, June 4, 2025.
Personnel arrived on scene to find an unoccupied single-story brick residence with heavy smoke and flames visible.
Crews worked for some time to extinguish the fire and search for anyone inside, with no one found. They remained on scene to extinguish any remaining hotspots while the investigator collected evidence.
The fire is under investigation at this time. There were no reports of any injuries.
Districts 4 and 3 Chiefs, Engines 22, 18, 12, 6, Rescue 22, Truck 5, Car 80, and Rehab 1 were dispatched to the incident.
