Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org VACANT HOUSE FIRE FAURE STREET Mobile Fire Investigators are investigating the cause of a fire in a vacant house located at 2651 Faure Street, South that occurred just after midnight (12:04 a.m.) on Thursday, November 10. Fire Dispatchers received numerous calls advising smoke and flames were visible from the vacant structure. Firefighters arrived within seven minutes reporting the single-story brick veneer structure fully engulfed in flames. Firefighters searched the structure and gave it the all clear. The fire appears to have started in the living room area and spread causing varying degrees of fire, heat and smoke damage throughout the residence. The cause is under investigation at this time. Damage is estimated at approximately $5 thousand. No injuries were reported. Engines 9, 16, 19; truck 24; rescue 24; District Chief Marquis James responded. The fire is being investigated by the Bureau of Fire Prevention. ###
