Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org VACANT HOUSE FIRE ON GREENLAWN DRIVE Mobile firefighters were called to a house fire, located on Greenlawn Drive, Friday morning, August 2 at approximately 11:16 a.m. A Mobile Police Officer on patrol in the area discovered the fire and reported it. When firefighters arrived on scene at approximately 11:22 a.m. they reported the single story, wood frame structure fully involved with fire. Fire Investigators determined the structure was vacant and unoccupied. The cause is currently under investigation. Damage is estimated at between $40-50 thousand and is a total loss. No injuries were reported. Engines 2, 16, 19; truck 17; rescue 24 and District Chief Elbert Cross responded. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting the investigation. ###
