Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 8:39 p.m. for a report of a residential fire somewhere on Dog River in Mobile, Alabama, Sunday night, April 27, 2025, after a call came in from someone across the river who was unable to give an exact address. Units were initially dispatched to the 3200 block of Venetia Drive.
Units arrived in the area and found the actual fire location in the 2400 block of Venetia Drive after firefighters found a two-story wood frame residence that was showing heavy fire.
Crews immediately began to deploy hose lines to battle the large blaze as personnel secured a hydrant water supply down a long access driveway. Firefighters also searched for any victims inside, but none were found.
The fire was brought under control so the investigator could survey the scene and collect evidence. Firefighters extinguished all hotspots before leaving the scene. The home suffered extensive damage from fire, smoke, and water.
No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
