Environmental Overview

The City of Mobile sits at the southern terminus of the 2nd largest intact river delta in the country.  The City strives to protect its natural resources, with its Recycling Program, by reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills, preserve natural resources, and reduce pollution. Environmental Engineering works to improve water quality and abate illicit discharges to the City’s drainage system.  Tree protection carried out by the Urban Forestry team helps to reduce storm water runoff, purify the air, and beautify our City.
