Apr 12th, 2024

6:00 a.m.—Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at 3:48 a.m. for a report of a hazardous materials incident resulting from a motor vehicle collision on westbound Interstate 10, just west of the Highway 90 interchange, in Theodore, Alabama, Friday morning, April 12, 2024.

The incident involved a pickup, car and tanker truck. Two people were transported to the hospital. Crews from MFRD used more than a dozen bags of oil-absorbent material to manage engine oil from the tanker that spilled onto the roadway. The tank itself was undamaged and did not leak.

As of 6 a.m., the road remains closed while the incident is cleared.
