Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org INTENTIONAL APARTMENT FIRE Mobile Fire Investigators have determined that a fire at the Warren Village Apartments, 6427 Airport Blvd, Tuesday morning, December 30, was intentionally set. The fire was discovered and called in at approximately 5:27 a.m. reporting smoke and flames visible. When firefighters arrived they reported smoke coming from a vacant apartment and a small fire in the stairwell. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire preventing further spread. Fire investigators discovered that someone forced entry into the apartment and apparently intentionally set the small fire. No injuries were reported and damage is estimated at approximately $5 thousand. Anyone who may have seen or have information about the fire is asked to call Mobile Fire-Rescue Investigators at 208-MFRD or 208-7311. Engines 11, 22, 26; rescue 22; truck 5 and District Chief Steve Zirlott responded. ###
