Rev. Levon C. Manzie, the eldest son of Rev. C. L. and Mrs. Jeanette Manzie, is a native of Mobile, AL and a graduate of Murphy High School and Troy University.
Rev. Manzie is a fourth-generation minister, and is currently the Assistant Pastor of the St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church of Whistler, AL. He has provided spiritual, as well as public service, to his community for many years.
Rev. Manzie furthered his skills in leadership and service by graduating from the 2006 class of Leadership Mobile and the United Way's Project Blueprint. He is also currently affiliated with Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Young Elected Officials Network, Mobile Area Education Foundation Board of Directors and the Augusta Evans Foundation.
In 2008, Rev. Manzie was elected to serve on the Mobile County School Board, representing District 4. He has also served two terms as Vice President, and one term as President, and led the Board in the passage of a $100 million construction bond that serves the needs of our children.
On October 8, 2013, Rev. Manzie was elected to serve the citizens of District 2 on the Mobile City Council. He currently serves as Administrative Services Chair. He holds the distinction of being the youngest member to serve on both the Mobile County School Board and Mobile City Council.
