BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

Personal

Rev. Clinton L. Johnson is a native Mobilian, the youngest of seven children born to the union of Mr. & Mrs. Alfred F. (Clara) Johnson. He is married to the former Barbara Gibson and two daughters and a son were born to this union.

Education

Educated in the Mobile County Public School System.

Graduate of Alabama A & M University with a Degree in Government & Sociology.

Graduate of Mobile College with a Degree in Religion.

Graduate of the University of South Alabama with a Master's Degree in Psychology & Counseling

Graduate of Alabama Interdenominational Seminary, Inc. with a Doctor of Divinity degree

Rev. Johnson has done additional study at the University of Tennessee, University of Georgia, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Two Honorary Doctorate degrees in Religion

Employment

Rev. Johnson is retired as a Rehabilitation Supervisor and Coordinator of Facility Services for the State of Alabama Vocational Rehabilitation Service after 26 years of service.

Rev. Johnson pastored the Bethlehem Baptist Church of Citronelle, AL for 8 years and has served as Pastor of the New Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church of Mobile, AL for the past 20 years.

Currently, he is serving his sixth term as a member of the Mobile City Council for District 3 and previously served two terms as Council President.
