The Museum of Mobile preserves and interprets the material culture and rich history of Mobile. The Museum’s mission is "to interpret the cultural, social, economic and political history of the Mobile Bay area and southwest Alabama and its diverse population through the collection, exhibition, research and preservation of artifacts, from pre-history to the present."
The Museum maintains and operates the following locations:
- Southern Market/Old City Hall – 111 South Royal Street, its main facility
- Phoenix Fire Museum
- Fort Conde Museum
Other traveling and temporary exhibits showcasing our collection and history
* Serves the community through lectures, tours, workshops and classes
* Publishes material on Mobile and area history
* Hosts meetings, conferences, banquets, receptions and like functions
