MOBILE, AL – On July 18, the Mobile City Council approved an amended intergovernmental agreement between the City of Mobile and the Mobile County Board of School Commissioners. If approved by the School Board, the agreement will allow the sale of Ladd-Peebles Stadium. Through this agreement, the City commits to $800,000 in immediate improvements and further investments of $9,200,000 over a period of four years.

A $116,514 contract was approved for Airport Boulevard traffic signal improvements. This contract allows for upgrades to several outdated pieces of equipment on the stretch of Airport Blvd. between Sage Ave. and Azalea Rd., and will help traffic flow in that congested area.

Over $300,000 in Capital Improvement Plan contracts were introduced for maintenance and improvement projects at the Michael C. Dow Amphitheater, Hope Community Center and Lyons Park.

Next week’s City Council meeting will be held on Monday, July 24 at 10:30 a.m.
