MOBILE, AL – On September 5, Mobile City Council allocated $1.3 million from the Rebuild Alabama Special Revenue fund for the execution of Phases III and IV of the Broad Street Redevelopment project. These phases are for improvements to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue from Beauraegard Street to the intersection of the Three Mile Creek Greenway, as well as improvements to Broad Street from the traffic circle at Canal Street to Baltimore Street.
 
The Council authorized more than $491 thousand in Capital Improvement Plan funds for contracts regarding fountain repairs at Unity Point Park in District 2, traffic signal improvements in District 6, and installation of a new splashpad at Baumhauer-Randle Park in District 3.
 
Community meetings for newly annexed areas will continue September 5 and 7 at Creekwood Church, 1901 Schillinger Road, at 5:15 p.m. Topics of discussion include trash and garbage, police and fire, animal services and more. Members of the administration and city departments will be present to answer questions.
