Mobile, Ala – The City Council will return to holding their weekly and committee meetings virtually next week.

“Given we are now able to conduct virtual meetings that allow for citizen participation, it just makes sense we do that,” said Council President Levon Manzie. “Not only do we continue to face major challenges as a community but with numbers appearing to start to plateau and the school year attempting to begin, if we can do more to help the situation, we are going to do it.”

In addition to the Council Members and Administration, citizens will now be able to join the meetings to offer public comments.

Citizens interested in speaking regarding a non-agenda item (the subject must relate to City of Mobile business), must contact the City Clerk’s Office at 251-208-7411 by 2:00 p.m. on Thursday to make a request or fill out the form "Addressing the City Council" and fax it to 251-208-7576 or email it to cityclerk@cityofmobile.org. You are limited to five minutes of speaking time. Click here for form to address the City Council.

Those citizens interested in addressing the Council on an agenda item must contact the City Clerk’s office by 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Citizens can reach the Clerk’s office at: cityclerk@cityofmobile.org or 251-208-7411.

Citizens, who have met the deadlines outlined above, will then receive information on how to join the virtual meeting. Citizens and members of the media will also be able to view the meeting at: cityofmobile.org/livestream
