Mobile City Council Meeting Recap – October 3, 2023

MOBILE, AL – The Mobile City Council granted approval for a $3.1 million contract with John G. Walton Construction Co., Inc. to initiate streetscape improvements along Highway 45 within District 1. This project is a crucial component of the Toulminville Neighborhood Plan and encompasses various enhancements, including road resurfacing, curb, gutter, and sidewalk improvements. The Council approved spending 1.7 million in the Municipal Government Capital Improvement Fund for various capital projects including citywide bridge and drainage repairs, upgrades to the Mobile Police Department video wall equipment and training facilities, and improvements to the Convention Center railway corridor sprinkler piping.

The Council authorized a $102,091 contract with Mike Hoffman’s Equipment Service, Inc. for removal of fuel system and underground storage tanks at the City’s Motor Pool, and a $281,180 contract with Integrity Maintenance, LLC for elevator renovations at the Arthur R. Outlaw Convention Center.
