Mayor Stimpson releases proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026
Mobile, Ala. – The City of Mobile's proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026 was delivered to the members of the Mobile City Council this afternoon.
Outlining the City of Mobile’s projected revenues and expenditures for the coming fiscal year, the FY26 budget includes increased allocations for public safety programs and initiatives, stormwater management, local infrastructure improvements and other vital public services.
Even with revenues projected to remain level, the City will be able to take on these new obligations without pulling from its operating reserves or cutting funding for other city services.
“This budget allows us to continue making big investments in Mobile’s future, and that wouldn’t be possible without the commitment to fiscal stewardship we’ve prioritized with the City Council and our department leaders over the last 12 years,” said Mayor Stimpson. “Together, we’ve placed the next mayor and City Council in a strong position to continue building on our city’s momentum.”
