Downtown streets to briefly close for RSA/Battle House spire maintenance

Mobile, Ala. — On the morning of Sunday, November 23, sections of Water Street and other downtown roads will be briefly closed to accommodate delivery of the RSA/Battle House Tower spire.
The spire, which was removed for repairs in April, is being returned to the hotel. The work on the spire is scheduled to take place between 5:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., but road closures around the building will occur only twice, and only briefly (5 to 15 minutes), while the spire is transported via helicopter.
Deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office will be on-site to close the surrounding streets only during the times that the helicopter is in flight. Detour signs will also be posted.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes and use caution when traveling in the area. Affected roads will include sections of St. Michael, St. Francis, Dauphin, and Water streets. See the map below:
