Springhill Recreation Center Getting Major Face-Lift

Part of Ongoing Effort to Revitalize Parks & Community Centers in District 2

Mobile, AL – The Springhill Recreation Center will soon be getting a major face-lift after the City Council today approved a contract for interior work to the facility. The project is part of an ongoing effort spearheaded by Councilman Levon Manzie to revitalize the parks and community centers in District 2.

“Our parks and community centers are the hearts of our neighborhoods,” said Councilman Levon Manzie. “When we invest in them, we are investing in our community. And, I am proud to be investing every dollar we can in them.”

Councilman Manzie allocated nearly $200,000 for improvements to Crawford-Murphy Park, Lyons Park, Harmon Recreation Center and Springhill Recreation Center from the 2015-2016 Capital Improvement Plan.

Manzie has slated an additional $1 million for major upgrades to Harmon Park, Rickarby Park, Rickarby Center, Sullivan’s Park and Center and the Springhill Recreation Center from the 2017-2018 Capital Improvement Plan fund.
