Councilman C.J. Small announced today a major sidewalk project coming to Dauphin Island Parkway in District 3. The project includes repairing, replacing and installing sidewalks along Dauphin Island Parkway on the section from I-10 south to Old Military Road.

“This project will ensure safe sidewalks for our citizens - especially the students who attend Gilliard Elementary and BC Rain High School who travel to and from school along DIP,” said Councilman Small. “Ensuring safe sidewalks has been a main focus of mine and will continue to be as we move forward.”

These projects are made possible through Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funds and federal TAP grants. The total cost of the project is estimated to be $173,161.89 with $138,529.51 in federal funds and $34,632.38 of District 3 CIP funds.
