No golf carts, ATVs or side-by-sides
Only state-registerested Low-Speed Vehicles (LSV) with current tag registration and insurance are allowed on city streets during Mardi Gras. Unregistered golf carts, ATVs, side-by-sides, dirt bikes and other unregistered vehicles are prohibited from city streets. All registered vehicles must adhere to applicable traffic laws.
Parking restrictions and towing
To ensure access to residences and connecting streets, on-street parking will no longer be allowed on Bayou Street and Scott Street between Government Street and Congress Street. “No Parking” signs have been installed on both sides of the street in these areas. These changes will remain in effect through the remainder of Mardi Gras. The City will evaluate how on-street parking in these areas will be handled on a long-term basis after Mardi Gras.
To maintain safe and accessible parade routes, the City of Mobile restricts on-street parking in areas marked with gold and purple Mardi Gras parking signs. Unless otherwise specified, these restrictions go into effect two hours before, during, and two hours after each parade. Vehicles found violating these restrictions are subject to being towed to ensure the safety and flow of the parade.

MPD's temporary impound lot will be located under the I-10 overpass on Water Street near the Canal Street intersection. The temporary impound facility will close at 10 p.m. on each parade day. When the temporary impound facility closes at 10 p.m., towed vehicles will be moved to the MPD Impound Lot located at 1251B Virginia St, Mobile, AL. Cars towed on February 16 and 17 will NOT be moved after 10 a.m. and will be left at the temporary impound facility overnight. The temporary impound yard is fenced, gated and locked with a padlock.
Cash, debit cards, Mastercard, Discover cards and Visa credit cards will be the accepted forms of payment at the temporary impound lot. For information regarding towed vehicles before 10 p.m. on parade days, please call (251) 208-2584. For information about towed vehicles after 10 p.m. and on non-parade days, please call (251) 208-2585.

No pets allowed
We are so excited for Mardi Gras season, and we know you are too! All pets look cute in their purple and gold, but please remember to keep them at home. Having pets on city streets along the parade routes during Mardi Gras activities is unlawful. Thank you for helping us keep your pets safe!

Special Needs Assistance For You (SNASY)
To help make the revelry of Mardi Gras parades accessible to everyone, the non-profit SNASY will be partnering with the City of Mobile to offer reserved parking and rest stations for individuals with special needs and their families.
Starting with the first parades on Jan. 30, SNASY will have a designated tailgate area in the southeast corner of Mardi Gras Park near Colonial Fort Conde. It will include a custom 24-foot trailer with a fully ADA-accessible bathroom, including an adult changing table. SNASY will also provide a climate-controlled tent along the outside of the trailer with tables, chairs, and light refreshments.
Participants can preregister for free, reserved parking at Fort Conde, and SNASY volunteers will be available to help families cross the street to Mardi Gras Park. The stations, parking options, and tailgate area will be available prior to every scheduled parade throughout the season.
SNASY is asking those bringing paradegoers with special needs to register in advance here. In addition to those with special needs, SNASY says its sites will also be open to serve the elderly as well as any paradegoer dealing with mobility or medical issues.
