City of Mobile Legal Department
The City of Mobile Legal Department serves as the City’s in-house legal counsel, providing expert legal guidance to the Mayor, City departments, and municipal operations. Our mission is to protect the City’s legal interests, ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, and support efficient, transparent, and responsible government.
The department is led by Deputy City Attorney Suntrease Williams-Maynard, who oversees the Civil, Claims, and Criminal Divisions. The Department Head works in close coordination and reports to the City Attorney Ricardo Woods to ensure all legal services align with the City’s strategic goals and operational priorities.
